Description
Description :
Visiting Researchers
The mission of the Brocher Foundation is to encourage a research on the ethical, legal and social implications for humankind of recent medical research and new medical technologies. It is a Swiss private law Foundation instituted by Mr and mrs Wilhelm and Lucette Brocher who endowed it with a vast domain. According to the founder’s will, its main task is to put a place to work and hold meetings at the disposal of researchers.
The Brocher Foundation main activity hosts visiting researchers for residencies lasting between 1 and 3 months. It offers accommodation in Geneva (Hermance) in the “Villa Brocher” and an office with all working facilities at the Brocher Centre.
These residencies give the opportunity to the selected researchers, from PhD students to professors, to write an essay, a thesis, articles, chapters or a book in a peaceful environment. It gives also the opportunity to meet researchers from different disciplines and countries working at the Brocher Centre as well as experts from the international organizations based in Geneva ( WHO, WTO, WIPO, UNHCR, ILO, WMA, ICRC, …).
