Postdoctoral/Research Assignment “Biofabrication and bioreactor technologies for bone tissue engineering”

 

The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation of

Research and Technology - Hellas, (FORTH/ICE- HT) is seeking applicants

for one postdoctoral/research assignment in the context of the research

project “Precision Manufacturing of Microengineered Complex Joint

Implants (JOINTPROMISE)”, which is implemented under the H2020 Research

and Innovation Action.

Job Description

To carry out experimental work on cell and tissue culture techniques

as well as differentiation protocols and quality assays and be involved

in the development of bioreactor and bioprinting processes. The job will

also involve participation in the daily implementation of JOINTPROMISE

project deliverables and preparation of reports to Project Coordinator

and EC..

Location: FORTH/ICE-HT, Patras, Greece

 

Duration: 12 months, with the potential of renewal

 

Salary: up to 2500 € per month (total cost of the employer, including social security and taxes) depending on the qualifications

 

Envisaged starting date: 1/5/2021

Requirements and Qualifications

The applicant should hold undergraduate B.S. or Diploma in Materials

Science, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering and a PhD in

Natural Sciences or Engineering with focus on biomaterial development

for tissue engineering applications. Experience with cell culture growth

and analysis techniques and assays would be strongly favored and

demonstrated experience with bioreactor and/or bioprinting technologies

will be positively evaluated. Proven participation in EU funded research

projects and publications in international peer-reviewed journals are

required. Candidates must have good knowledge of English (Level B2).

Experience in grant preparation would be favored.

Interested candidates who meet the aforementioned requirements should

  • Copies of the publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings
  • Two (2) recommendation letters
  • Certificates of previous experience and participation in EU funded projects

 

Any application received after the deadline will not be considered for the selection.

Selection Procedure

Applications that are received on time will be evaluated by a

scientific committee using the criteria mentioned above. If necessary,

certain candidates will be invited to a personal interview with the

committee.

 

The outcome of the selection will be announced on the website of FORTH/ICE-HT as well as on the website of “DIAVGEIA”.
